Welcome to SHORTS 2023!
Making the world we live in tangible and, beyond that, bringing a utopia or even dystopia to life: Film can do that. Showing. Hoping. Wishing. Worrying. This is exactly what the student films at our trinational film festival SHORTS report on in a variety of forms. Not least because of recent socio-political developments, SHORTS 2023 presents a new focus of the festival: The “documentary view” of past, present and future of our society and our planet, focused in documentaries, reports and features of the student filmmakers. It wants to sharpen our vision and hearing for the challenges of the time and invite discourse – another step of SHORTS to a film festival that establishes a stage and a forum here in Offenburg for young filmmakers attitudes and messages: Nothing is more exciting than art in the making!
