A War I’ve Never Seen

Almost eighty years after the end of the Second World War, Julia stands in her Wehrmacht uniform in a field in Normandy. She embodies an ideology she does not believe in, from a world she never experienced. Born in Russia, she sees herself as a German anti-aircraft helper from the 1940s. She plays a character whose life story she has invented as part of the re-enactment. And although Julia knows the reality, she decides in favour of her own world. A film about the question of whether you become what you play.
